Olu Pua Gardens is located on the south side of the Island of Kauai, about a mile west of the town of Kalaheo. The entrance is ˝ mile from Highway 50; once you have arrived, you can participate in a myriad of local activities and scenic wonders, or just relax and enjoy the peace, the quiet, and the beauty of Olu Pua. |
| In ancient times, Olu Pua’s picturesque grounds served as a retreat for Alii, Hawaii’s ruling class. In the 1930’s, the Alexander family owned the Estate. With ties to the missionary period, the Alexanders were founders of Kauai’s largest pineapple plantation and co-founders of today’s international business corporation, Alexander and Baldwin. More recently, Olu Pua has hosted a distinguished list of celebrities, botanists and statesmen from all over the world. | ![]() |

Olu Pua Gardens was open to the public until early 2002, when the current owner took over. The estate is now private, open only to our guests. In addition to the well-appointed and spacious accommodations, you will have four acres of beautiful tropical gardens for your private use. Not a bad way to while away an afternoon. |
